Chlorine Wash
A chlorine wash is a process in which a strong solution of chlorine is applied to the pool surface to remove algae, bacteria, and other organic matter that may be clinging to the walls and floor of the pool. Chlorine washes are typically used in cases where the pool water has become heavily contaminated, or where there is a buildup of stubborn stains or algae that cannot be removed through regular cleaning.
The process of a chlorine wash involves draining the pool and scrubbing the walls and floor to remove any loose debris. A solution of chlorine and water is then applied to the surfaces of the pool and allowed to sit for a period of time, typically several hours. After the solution has been allowed to work, the pool is thoroughly rinsed and filled with fresh water. It is important to follow the instructions carefully and to use caution when working with chlorine, as it can be dangerous if not handled properly.
Acid Wash
An acid wash is a process in which a dilute solution of muriatic acid is applied to the pool surface to remove stains and discoloration that cannot be removed through regular cleaning. Acid washes are typically used in cases where the pool has become discolored due to buildup of calcium deposits, rust stains, or other types of stains that are resistant to regular cleaning methods.
The process of an acid wash involves draining the pool and scrubbing the walls and floor to remove any loose debris. A solution of muriatic acid and water is then applied to the surfaces of the pool and allowed to sit for a period of time, typically between 5 and 20 minutes. After the acid has been allowed to work, the pool is thoroughly rinsed and neutralized with a solution of baking soda and water to prevent further damage to the surface.
A deep pool cleaning may be for you. Both chlorine and acid washes can be effective in restoring the appearance of a pool although they should be used with caution and only when necessary.
